General
Since the approval of the Kyoto Protocol and the rise of the world public awareness concerning the effects of global warming, there is a dramatic increase of the number of private companies and other stakeholders in the area of sustainable energy technologies. This interest is based on technological development of advanced efficient energy systems, relevant policy programs of public and private organizations and business interest of Israeli and EU (Greek) companies and investors.
At the same time, European and Greek stakeholders have a wide and long experience in these areas. These two trends, the emerging awareness of the Israelis and the European (Greek) experience can be a base for bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Israeli and Greek companies, researchers and institutions.
The aim of the conference is to enlarge the bilateral cooperation between Israeli and Greek stakeholders in the area of energy efficiency and clean energy technologies.
Therefore, the goal of the conference is twofold:
1. To present the accumulated experience of developers and companies of both countries, including a small exhibition of Israeli industries and a field trip of the Israeli group at Greek projects around Athens.
2. To encourage business cooperation between Israeli and Greek enterprises. In this sense, we will consider creating a joint portal.
The conference will focus on the following topics:
- Israeli and the Greek energy markets
- Needs and opportunities in the tourism, industry and building sectors
- Integration of clean energy technologies in the electricity market
- Business models of investment in clean energy projects
- Green architecture and eco-buildings
- Case studies presentation
- Energy efficiency services
- Legal and environmental frameworks
