CONFERENCE VENUE
The “Herods” Hotel, Eilat, Israel - a 5-star deluxe hotel, is situated directly on the shores of the Red Sea, overlooking the Gulf of Eilat. The hotel is located close to the city’s major tourism attractions, sea sports and shopping centers.The Conference will take place in spacious, fully equipped lecture rooms.

The Conference Registration desk will operate at the “Herods” Hotel as follows:Tuesday, March 18th, 2008 from 16:00-21:00 hours.
Wednesday, March 19th, 2008 from 08:00 untill the end of sessions.
Thursday, March 20th, 2008 from 08:00 untill the end of sessions.
Friday, March 21st, 2008 from 08:00 untill the end of sessions.
HOSPITALITY DESK
“OFAKIM” will operate a hospitality desk during the Conference, where you will be able to arrange additional accommodation and sightseeing tours. Payment for any “OFAKIM TOURS” services can be made in advance, when registering for the Conference or later.SOCIAL EVENTS
GET - TOGETHER COCKTAILThe Get - together reception will take place on Wednesday, March 19th, 2008 at the “Herods” hotel at 19:30.

The “PURIM CARNIVAL PARTY” will take place on Thursday, March 20th, 2008 at the “Herods” hotel at 20:00.
CLIMATE
The weather in Eilat is hot and sunny during the day, and warm throughout the evening, although it might be slightly chilly at night. Daytime temperatures range from 20 – 25° C (68-77° F).CLOTHING
Informal for all occasions. Should you be planning a trip, we recommend that you bring sunglasses, a hat and comfortable walking shoes. Since the Conference is to take place on the Red Sea don’t forget to bring a bathing suit.THE 2nd INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE IN PALLIATIVE CARE - PALLIATIVE CARE IN DIFFERENT CULTURES Fancy dress or costume for the Purim Carnival party On Thursday, March 20, is highly recommended.
VISAS
For participants from most countries, a visa to Israel is not required. However, we suggest that you ask your travel agent to check for you. For participants from countries with no official representation or Israeli consulate, please send the following information to the Conference Secretariat no later than two months prior to the Conference: full name, date and place of birth, passport number, date and place of issue and expiry date, flight details (arrival date and flight number), and the Secretariat will forward the information to the Ministry of Interior, who processes such requests.REGISTRATION
Registration for the Conference is possible by completing the registration form either through the Conference web-site or by fax/air-mail.Early Registration fees are valid until February 10, 2008.
For your attention: We strongly advise all Conference participants to register and reserve their Hotel accommodation as soon as possible.
Registration/changes in accommodation, flights, tours & registration will be accepted until February 28, 2008.

FLIGHTS TO EILAT
Eilat is located approximately five hours from Tel-Aviv by road. Direct charter flights to Eilat are available from a number of European cities.Domestic flights to Eilat Airport (flight time is approximately 50 minuets) leave both Ben-Gurion Airport And Tel-Aviv Sde-Dov Airport.
The flights from Ben-Gurion Airport to Eilat are limited and may not always be coordinated with the arrival of international flights.
Domestic group flights from Ben-Gurion Airport / Sde-Dov Airport to Eilat Airport are published in the registration form. Please take that into consideration when you are making your international flight reservations. Prices appears on the Conference website.
TRANSPORTATION BY BUS
Organized group transfers by buses from Haifa and Tel-Aviv will be optional on March 18 and March 19 and back from Eilat to Tel-Aviv & Haifa on March 21 and 22. The final time of departure will be updated on the Conference web site.PAYMENT
It is strongly recommended to arrange and pay for accommodation, tours and other services provided by OFAKIM before your arrival.OFAKIM accept American Express, Visa, Master Card, and Diners Club credit cards. Payment in Israeli currency is subject to value exchange rate at the day of charge.

• OFAKIM reserves the right to change the requested hotels to those of a similar grade or better.• OFAKIM and their agents shall not be responsible for, and shall be exempt from, all liability in respect of any loss, damage, injury, accident, delay or inconvenience to any person, or his/ her luggage or any other property, for any reason whatsoever’ for any tourist services provided.
• Personal travel and health insurance is highly recommended.
• Official check-in time for hotels is 15:00 and checkout time is noon.
• The prices and rates are based on the exchange rates of foreign currency as known by Jan 2008.
• Any changes in the exchange rates of the currencies in question, US Dollar / Israeli Shekel / Euro will affect the said rates.
