Hi All,
We wish to thank you for attending Mobixell's 1st User Conference. We felt it was a very successful conference, and received much positive feedback from many of you.
The general mood was realistic but upbeat, as to the opportunities in the key areas of Mobile TV, Mobile Advertising, and Mobile Messaging.
We felt that the conference initiated a lot of very interesting discussion about Mobile Multimedia, and we look forward to continue discussing these and other related topics with you in the coming weeks and months.
Please find the Presentations and Pictures (Use the User Name and Password provided by email, to download the presentations).
Below you can find a summary of some of the highlights of the show. We would love to receive some more feedback from you, so feel free to reply to this email with you comments: what you liked, what was the best presentation, the best activity, and where improvement is needed.
We enjoyed our time with you, and we hope to see you at our next user conference!
Avichai, Ofra, and the Mobixell Team
Some of the highlights:
Overview Session- After a welcome note from Amir Aharoni, Mobixell CEO, Thomas Husson, the Senior European analyst, gave us his vision, statistics and forecasts on the world of multimedia, and highlighted some opportunities in the MMS, Mobile TV and Mobile Advertising worlds
- Avichai Levy, Mobixell SVP Marketing, spoke about the Mobile Multimedia success matrix, citing the main drivers for successful multimedia services to be provided by mobile operators (User Experience, Price Schemes and Business Case, In-network solutions and solution scope)
- Jean Fran?ois Allaire from Swisscom presented a case study of a successful Mobile TV service provided by Swisscom (launched around the Euro 2008 football championship) using the Mobixell Mobile TV solution
- Shoham Eckhaus and Asher besserglick from Mobixell presented Mobixell's view as to the Mobile TV market and the solution architecture which is required for a mobile operator to offer an attractive mobile TV service to its subscribers. They emphasized that Mobile TV users will eventually expect a similar service that they get in their non-mobile world, including time-shifting services (VOD, nPVR)
- The Mobile TV Panel created a lot of interest with a strong engagement of the audience, and the general feeling of the panel was that Mobile TV service adoption is in fact going to increase, using a mix of broadcast and unicast technology
- We heard interesting presentations from Vodafone UK, Vodafone global and Turkcell - all gave an optimistic view of MMS and the way to increase usage; all of them use Mobixell to enhance MMS user experience, but have also discussed ways to offer interesting applications based on MMS in order to educate the subscribers and increase usage.
- Yehuda Elmaliach, Mobixell CTO (who was also our volunteer photographer and took all the pictures at the events!) presented some interesting thoughts on next generation messaging - the link between mobile messaging and social networks, web 2.0.
- We concluded the messaging sessions with an intriguing "Messaging 2.0" panel moderated by Thomas from Jupiter Research
- We opened the session with an interesting case study from Telecom Italia Mobile (TIM) - Luisella Sisto described their Mobixell-based Advertising system and how they use it to provide off-deck advertising in WAP.
- Eran and Freddy from Mobixell Presented the Sony pictures case study with some cool example of combining Video and Advertising, and also touched the issue which all operators are interested in - how to build a compelling business case for Mobile advertising
- We also had a presentation from Mobi, an Ad Agency, Mauro from SFR presented his vision on Mobixell advertising, Eddie Paterson from IBM showed how the mobile advertising solution an be part of a larger advertising framework, and Stephan from Orange talked about the Innovation Factory in Orange (where the Mobixell Viral Marketing platform was installed).
- We concluded with a Mobile Advertising Panel with operators and analysts - from which it was apparent that although the subject was considered "hyped" - all operators stated that they will continue to invest in Mobile advertising and that they see Mobile advertising as strategic to their business
The beautiful venue was an attraction by itself, the opening cocktail, the lunches, the view, the tour in Frascati; but nothing can beat the Pasta cooking workshop we all had together, with the Italian Mama who filled our faces with flour. Whoever didn't come missed a very entertaining experience, and wonderful food!
See you in Mobixell next User Conference
